On 28th June 2019, China Merchants Industry Technology Europe, CMIT-Europe celebrated its first birthday at the presence of top managements’ China Merchants Industry Holdings.

Mr. Stefano Schiavo, CEO of CMIT-Europe, his managers and the entire company warmly welcomed top managements’ China Merchants Industry Holdings leads by the General Manager, Mr. Simple Hu, in their European home.

From 18th June 2018, day of its opening ceremony CMIT- Europe has grown up following settled goals:

Team making, first composed by 18 engineers, now developed in 80 employees (increasing number).

Developing of Oil and Gas and Cruise Business Units with relevant order acquisition.

Final location of CMIT-Europe Headquarter, giving new life to the headquarters of the Ferruzzi group, fulcrum of Ravenna in the 90s.

Mr Simple Hu and Mr Stefano Schiavo celebrated the first birthday of CMIT-Europe presented first goals reached together and a look to the future to a full audience in the Marco Polo meeting room.

In the first year of CMIT-Europe the foundations for the future have been built continuing work in the oil and gas sector and achieving important results such as the recent acquisition of orders for FPSOs from SBM.

Relevant steps was done also in Cruise business unit: First of all the rising of a new brand and its new way of charming luxury cruise with a green consciousness.

Ravenna is fundamental in the group’s development plan as it is a centre of excellence for both Oil and Gas and Cruise Business units.  In fact since its establishment CMIT has started a collaboration with local institutions, with the mayor of Ravenna Michele de Pascale and the port authority and now, an agreement was signed with the University of Bologna for the creation of two specific master’s courses in Marina di Ravenna.

CMIT-Europe aims to develop its own business and a new rise of the city of Ravenna.
