The collaboration framework agreement has been signed by the University of Bologna and the Chinese company, world leader in the maritime and luxury cruise ship construction industry
The 5-year strategic collaboration agreement between the University of Bologna and China Merchants Industry Holdings – a world leader in the maritime and luxury cruise ship construction industry – was signed at the Rector’s Office in Bologna. The objective is to develop research, innovation and training projects.
The agreement
was signed following a number of meetings, proposals and negotiations that
started in December 2018, when a delegation from the University of Bologna
(formed by Rector Francesco Ubertini, professor Fabio Fava, industrial
research, territorial cooperation and innovation delegate, the mayor of
Ravenna, Michele De Pascale, and Camilla Bosi from Regione ER) met, in Hong
Kong, China Merchants Group and CMIT – Europe representatives (Mr Simple HU,
MD/GM of CMI; Mr ZHAN Hua Feng, CMHI & Cruise Ship Co. Chief HR Officer ,
Mr Paul LIANG, Director of CMIT-Europe, Mr Simon YE, Deputy Chairman of
CMIT-Europe, Mr Stefano Schiavo, CEO of CMIT-Europe, Mr Jacky LIU, Chairman of CMIT-Europe).
The agreement sets the foundations for a collaboration to start a
research and development centre in Marina di Ravenna, within the maritime
and cruise ship construction industry, and create specific Master’s Degree
programmes.
